Class Dojo

At Norwayne Middle School, we are using Class Dojo in the 6th grade to keep track of our students’ progress in achieving the character traits in our Cobra Code of Excellence.  Students will be rewarded with positive points
when they exhibit these character traits:

C - Committed (and passionate)

O – Overachiever (strong work ethic)

B – Be Honest

R – Responsible and Respectful

A – Accountable

Rewards:

  • Each week that a student ends with at least 75% positive points, they will be rewarded with a piece of candy.
  • Each nine weeks that a student ends with at least 75% positive points, they will be entitled to a reward chosen by the teacher.
  • Each semester that a student ends with at least 75% positive points, they will be allowed to attend a reward trip (bowling, laser tag, movie, etc.).

Class Dojo also allows teachers and parents to track counterproductive behaviors when  students do not adhere to class or school expectations in the Cobra Code of Excellence.  The following are consequences of receiving “needs work” points in Class Dojo:

Consequences:

  • After 3 “needs work” points in one week  – student receives silent lunch
  • After 4 “needs work” points in one week – parent receives a Dojo behavior report to be signed
  • After 5 “needs work” points in one week – parent / teacher conference
