NOTE: Students can check their own goal progress by logging in to AR and clicking on Progress on the home screen.

Accelerated Reading Requirement

Each quarter students will be given an Accelerated Reading Goal to met by the end of the 9 weeks. This goal is set according to their reading and readiness level determined by the STAR assessment taken at the beginning of school.

Students are expected to reach their goal by the end of the nine weeks, and will have mini-conferences each 3 weeks with the teacher and/or librarian to give them check-points.

Upon completing this expectation students will get an 100 as a homework work grade for reaching their goal, as well as, a grade for their overall proficiency on the AR tests taken. If students do not reach their goal, students will get the grade equivalent to the percentage of their goal met.

Note: The student's active reading homework is given to help and assist students to think through the types of questions on the AR tests, as well as, practice and use the reading strategies being taught within the classroom.
