COBRA Code of Excellence

We will be using Class Dojo this year to help keep track of discipline.  A letter will be sent home explaining how Class Dojo works and to give parents a code to login in and keep track of their students' behavior.

Purpose
1. to create a classroom environment conducive to learning
2. to improve self-discipline and responsibility
3. to promote good organizational skills and homework habits

Procedures
Students who respect others and the property of others, who follow school and classroom rules, who have necessary materials and supplies, and who put forth their best effort will receive positive Dojo points. Students who chose to not follow the rules will receive a negative Dojo point.

Reasons for Earning a Dojo Point

  1. SHOWING DISRESPECT (teacher, adult, student, speaker, flag)
  1. OUT OF SEAT (without permission)
  1. DISRUPTING CLASS (talking, yelling, throwing/tossing items, off subject/inappropriate questions)
  1. SUPPLIES/BOOKS NOT BROUGHT TO CLASS (pens, pencils, books, binders, papers)
  1. LOCKER VISIT (not having materials in class)
  1. SLEEPING IN CLASS OR HEAD DOWN
  1. FAILURE TO RETURN SIGNED PAPERS
  1. NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS/RULES (lab, walking in lines, assignments)
  1. TARDY FOR CLASS
  1. OTHER (including the Norwayne Rules and Policies from the Student Handbook)
